on the way back to our room--this is just outside the door.  Pretty f'ing awesome, I'd say

oh, well....notice the cookies on the top shelf?  looks just like those killer cookies at Mini-Mezza Luna.  We're not sure they're the same, so we bought some to try later.

 I have traveled to many places and rarely return to the same city because I have so many others I want to visit and enjoy. Random Rants--found objects in odd places, odd people and what they do on the road, odd losses

  I've decided to carry my camera with me more often because you just never know.  Last week I had a fun afternoon in a friend's art studio in Princeton, and as I was leaving, Connie noticed two pineapples sitting across the street.  I know it sounds like the beginning of a joke...Two pineapples were sitting across the street from an art studio and one says to the other....  So, no joke and they weren't talking, at least not to us.  Where did they come from and why did someone just leave them there?  So odd. Didn't take them home; didn't eat them.  Just left them there for others to also ponder.    The next day, I'm on my way over the hill and there's a woman, maybe in her 30's, behind me in a Mercedes.  At the stop signal to turn left onto hwy 92, she pulls off her shirt and is left in what looked like a black bra.   The light changed before she could maneuver into another shirt, so onward she drove all the way up 92.  She p...

TRIPPING ON TRIPS

 I hate cobblestone streets. I've always hated them...the first time in the 80's watching Parisian women in high heels walk naturally across them as I gingerly made my way in my sensible shoes. I've never understood how to maneuver them gracefully.  That being said...  Here we are in Ajijic, Mexico for the first of 3 trips in the next year for Matthew's extensive (and far less expensive) dental work. The town is supposed to be charming, though we got in around 6 pm yesterday so couldn't see much. We walked to the closest restaurant the hotel told us about for dinner around 7:30, and what I noticed were the cobblestone streets and broken sidewalks that ended abruptly. It's Mexico...it's always like this, especially when we first arrive. It takes a little getting used to--the streets often look like crap, but once inside the walls of La Mision   a beautiful decor greeted us....tables surrounding a dropped stage area where 2 men played stringed instrume...
